Differences from overseas specifications
Export versions are also built in Japan (堤（愛知）), so major parts such as the engine and hybrid system are shared with the Japanese-market car. Of 1,626 VINs attached to US complaints, 99% start with "J", indicating Japanese production.
Sold overseas as: Prius v
- Sold in the US as the Prius v and built in Japan. The engine and hybrid system are the same as the Japanese Prius α.
- The US version is 5-seat only with a nickel-metal hydride HV battery, so some cases do not apply to the Japanese 7-seat version with the lithium-ion battery.
